A problem with the Bells is that there were a lot of them in Virginia, most
of the men being named James. It seems like "most" anyway. There were at
least two Bell families who had children baptized in the 1740s at the
Presbyterian Congregation at Ft. Defiance, Augusta County. And so on. Terry
