John, Thank you for the Newenham info. Just have to remember to include them in the
Absolom discussions. <smile> Genealogy has been on the back burner for the last
couple of weeks. My mom fell while on vacation (she is now 94) and broke her hip. First
surgery she has had in her lifetime. Anyway, she is doing well for 94 but recovery is
slow, She is now back in Alabama but we try to get over there to help my sister out (she
is 74). We hope that she can go back to her own living space (assisted living but needs
too much assistance right now) in about 2 weeks. Thanks again for the Newenham info. Where
does she fit in??? Wish we knew of more female lines to think about DNA testing but the
only one that I know of is Isabel and she only had a son. Lots of female line info from
the thrice married James -- guess we could compare one of his lines from his marriage with
Mary Callison with a line from another female line of James and Isabel and if they are the
same-- that would answer that they both descended from Isabel. We can probably find a
female line from Mark's McNutts family but no clue as to any descendants of the 5
daughters of James and Mary Callison.
I am up eary and ready for the day -- lots of workmen at the house. Woodpeckers pecked
holes in the stucco chimney which caused rain to blow into the attic and a leak in the
ceiling. When we got someone to fix that, they found the foundation needed lifting (we
have a TERRIBLE substance underground here
-- Yazoo Clay) so when the foundation guys went under the house, they found termites
(another popular item here in Mississippi). We call this house the NEW house (even though
we have lived here 15 years) but guess it it time to change this name.
Take care all, Marilyn
