Marilyn, I admire your research abilities. My head would be, and is,
spinning. :-)
I haven't done any land searches in Iowa. However, at least seven of
Benjamin Matthew (son of William and Laurahama Crow) and Alimra Reynolds
Callison's children (my grandfather being one) were born in Oakland,
Pottawatamie Co., Iowa. I guess I've just assumed that they lived within
the town itself. Benjamin Matthew died at Oakland 2 May 1915.

Subject: [CALLISON] Connections
In Pike Co., Ohio pre 1850 we have the Boiler family, Cutlip family,
Collison/Callison family
Joseph BOILER married Nancy Callison in Virginia. He witnessed will of
George
Cutlip, the father of Elizabeth Cutlip Callison.
In Pottawatamie Co., Iowa -- descendants of Nancy Callison Boiler were
living
there in the same time period as descendants of James Callison, son
of
William. Susanne, or anyone else from James -- do you have where the
Callison land
was in Pottawatamie Co., The Boiler land was in Section 29 and 30 in
twps
75
and 76 Range 38
In Pike Co, Ohio pre 1850 marriages we have Samuel and Margaret Collison
marrying Elizabeth and Joseph Downing. 1831 and 1823. as per 1850 census
Samuel
was born 1801 Virginia. Has anyone considered they might be children
of
John
Callison who married Elizabeth Cutlip who married 1791 Virginia?? The
other
Collison marriages were the children of Alexander.
Absolom, son of Alexander and Moses, son of William traveled from Ohio to
Vermillion Co., Illinois and Alexander and Moses owned land together in
Ohio. In
1820 Pike Co., Beaver twp. Alexander and Moses lived next to each
other.
Thomas Downing family lived in Pee Pee twp., Joseph Boiler lived in Pee
Pee twp.
also
Nancy Callison Newenham lived in Ross County Ohio HOWEVER her son, John,
met
and married Ann Elliott (descendant of John Jr.) in Clark County.
Nancy's
descendants and Joseph descendants( Joseph of William, Nancy of ?)
traveled from
Illinois on the same wagon train!!
Seems like there were some tax records in Kentucky with close proximity
between Joseph, Robert (sons of William) and William. Not sure where Hiram
and
Absolom were at this time. Someone can fill us in, I am sure. So does
anyone have
other connections between the various lines. Take care all
Marilyn
