From this land record it appears that a John Callison still owned this land
in 1809. William Callison sold 50 acres of his land in 1784 to John Beard that
was ajoining John's land but it was in Spring Creek area. Locust Creek is a
branch of the Greenbrier River and also seems to be in the area known as Little
Levels so possibly this land is the land bought by John Jr. and that he sold
in 1811. I really have NO buying and selling of land by John Sr and only one
sell by William. I would love to know who sold this land to John Beard. I know
that James and Anthony Callison had land on Locust Creek (James got his in
1795) also and that in 1825 Spring Creek was still listed in Greenbrier Co. deeds
when James Callison got land. WHAT JAMES IS THIS? James, son of the younger
James who married Mary Callison??? From early land records it looks like the
BIG LEVELS was still in Greenbrier Co. and that LITTLE LEVELS was in Bath and
taken out of Greenbrier and eventually became Pocahontas County, WV. James
Callison had land adjoining Samuel Brown in Big levels area. He got land in this
area in 1787. Again what James?? And there is still the problem of how the Brown
family relates to the James Callison who died in Greenbrier in 1827.
