I have forwarded you message on to Marilyn Hansen, leader of the Callison
group. I don't know that we have much more than what I sent you about the
South Carolina Callisons. However, the group has had contact with some
Callisons in the UK who also are from Ulster. There are a lot of clues
that point to all of the Callisons who came out of Ulster being related,
but no one has been able to find the records that will make the connection.
One of the clues is the fact that the first name James is used in every
generation. Two of the lines were traced by Evelyn Witeck to County Armagh
in the late 1700's using documents she obtained from the Public Records
Office in Belfast. I have a paper written by her in 1990 that contains
extracts from those records. The records indicate that the Callisons had
land at a place called Moss Park near Mullabane in the parish of
Mullabrick. James Callison acquired this property from a Thomas Noble 27
May 1782.
