<< I have Robert A. Callison son of James and Anne Gilliespie m. Nancy
Emmeline Casteel Jan. 20, 1861 iron Co., MO. who was the dau. of Alexander
Casteel/Rachel Morris. I don't show any children for Robert and Emmeline, but
have no concrete proof of the information I have. My ancestor was George W.
Callison, son of James and Anne. I do have good information on George W., but
no proof to link him to James and Anne. If you have the children of Richard
and Nancy E. I would appreciate the list - Jim Chandler >>
Jim, Unless Robert who married Sidney Pharies married a second time to Nancy
Casteel, that is probably a different marriage. BUT I had never thought of
the possibility that the Robert in Iron Co could be a second marriage. Do you
have an age for him at all. I think that George W. would be a son of Robert
and Sarah Pharies/Faries and grandson of James Jr. and Anne Gillespie because
of his date of birth and Anne's date of death. Here are some facts that I
have gathered on this family. I may have sent them to you before but time
always makes things a little clearer. I'ld certainly appreciate ANY
information that you have on this family
Lots of this is speculative but gathering more facts all of the time.

This gets really jumbled up now and I would appreciate any help or
clarification on this family. these are just ALL of my notes on this family
so wade through them and let me know wehre I am off base with it. Take care.
We can not account for lots of these people in early census records so that
makes things more difficult. In fact, I have very few census records for
anyone in this family in these first three generations.

James and Anne were in Roane Co. Tn after their marriage according to sale of

James Callison was still in Rhea Co. TN in 1821 as there is a suit of the
State vs. James Callison.
Anne was deceased by March 1823 when her father's will was written. She was
mentioned as Anne Gillespie Callison, deceased, wife of James Callison

It is possible that the David Parkhill who left Callison heirs in Marshall
co, Alabama was in Rhea co, Tn previous to Alabama also.

Joyce Moore speculates that these children are from another child of James
Callison and Sarah Craig BUT if Martha was born in 1824 and James and Sarah
not married until 1816 this could not be. I think it more likely that James
Jr and Anne Gillespie Callison had another daughter married to a Parkhill
previous to 1824 and that these are her children.
Robert is known to have gone to Lauderdale co, Ala.

Joyce Moore speculates that Sam Callison who was born about 1815 Alabama and
went to Houston co. Texas is the youngest son of James and Anne Callison. I
would think that he was born in Tn and moved to Alabama and just census
records incorrect.
Samuel C. Callison married Ida Orlene Box and after she died married Martha
Yarbrough. Some of his children were James Crocket, John Gillespie, Louisa
Isabelle who were all married in Houston Co. TX also sons Robert, George,
Franklin, and Samuel C. Daughters were Mary and Nancy. The family moved
from Blount Co, AL to Houston Co,TX finally settleing in Guadalupe Co ( now

The four older children listed in this census should be stepchildren of John
and children of Margaret

This puts Robert in Alabama at least by 1833. John G. was already in Texas by
1843 so this appears to be a different John with land patent in 1843.
Possibly the unknown older son of Robert in the 1840 census. Need to see what
counties this land was in.

So who are all of these males that are listed in these two census records.
1. W.R. went to Tn.
1850 census hardin County, Tn. I would suspect that he is child of Robert
only because of the fact that Sidney Faires Collison had a brother named
Cornelius and there is a son Cornelius here. He is listed in Weakley co, Tn
