For anyone that's interested, my uncle, Tom Callison, died on April 6 at the
age of 86.
Susanne, I was sorry to hear about your uncle. Seems like the Callison
surnamed people are shrinking in number but maybe that is just my perception. Did
he have any sons or brothers who might be interested in DNA testing. I think
I told all of you about my uncle who died about 3 years ago at the age of 92.
No sons and only son of only son etc etc etc back to 1860. One of my regrets
is that I did not know of DNA testing before he died because he would have
been glad to help me with my project. However ----. Anyway, I went back to the
drawing board to trace another line to see if there were any male descendants
and I found ONE living in Georgia. I made contact on the phone with him to
introduce myself and the response was not very warm. Said someone had already
done all that "family stuff" and traced us back to Jesus!!! I did not know
that Jesus was named O'Conor and came from Ireland. Anyway, I thought I'ld
persevere and send him some info on his early family via snail mail with a return
envelope JUST IN CASE. You guessed it, no response so I never did get to
know him well enough to introduce a DNA test. Oh well. So goes genealogy. Take
care all. Marilyn
