This raises an interesting question. When did middle names become common -
or used at all? I had not heard James [b1798] had a middle name. On the
other hand, I have called one of James wives, Martha Walkup Byrd. Did she
have 3 names or was this the second marriage for her?
For James:
I show no children from Cathy Beard
2 children by Martha Byrd: Thomas Beard and Martha Rebecca
5 children by Malinda Alderson: Henry Clay, John Anthony, James Joseph
Alderson, Martha Jane, and George Washington.
Does this correlate with other people's information?

Hi Marilyn:
James Callison b. 1739 had a son Anthony b. 1772 married to Abigail
McClung who had a son James Beard Callison b. 1798 who married Cathy
Beard. What do you think about this as to involving the Beard surname.
Thought I would put in that information. I still carry my gggrandfather
Moses who married Catherine Bonnett as the son of William Callison and
Agnes (Unknown). The only other sons I carry for William are Joseph
Callison and Robert Payton Callison. Have a good day ----------------.
