regards to DNA, what costs are involved? Where do I do it?
Drew, off the top of my head, I would say that you descend from either
Anthony, Isaac or James who were the sons of the younger James Callison from
County Armagh, Ireland -- just guessing it might be Isaac. We have DNA testing
done from one line of that James but the more lines tested -- the more we know.
You can read more about DNA testing at _www.familytreedna.com_
(
http://www.familytreedna.com) . We are listed under the CULLISON group so we get a
cheaper
price. You need to do at least 25 markers to separate your info from tons of
unrelated people who match at 12 markers. We have a very common European
grouping on the first 12 markers. Need more markers to separate the men from the
boys. <smile> The cost for 12 markers for the group is $99 and for 25 markers
is $149 and for 37 markers is $189 ( I think) Some of us have started off
with 12 and then upgraded to more as we needed more info. They use the same
sample -- just send $$$. If need be, I can help with the cost since I am the
wrong sex to participate in DNA testing <sigh> Has to be a direct male line.
Take care. Marilyn
