Marilyn,
Samuel Callison, probable brother of John G. who went to Texas, as they were both in
Alabama together and later John G. was in Houston County, Texas with Samuel. John G's
son remained living close to Samuel until he went to Ark., . Later Samuel moved down to
Gonzales Co., Texas with James living in Fayette Co., which is on one side of Gonzales
Co., and John G. was living on the other side of Gonzales Co.
Samuel had a grandson named Hiram who died as a child. This has to be more than a
coincidence as the name Hiram was a well used Callison name.
I know that Samuel had a son James Crockett and one named John Gillespie, which would
probably be for his brothers, but I suspect he had one named for his father as they were
married at least three years before they had a child, which is unusual back then.
The woman that was married to George Callison, John G.s son, later married a man who
used to help with Samuel's children before he remarried, so there is definitely a
connection between them. I believe they were brothers. John G. was born ca 1797, James was
born ca 1804, and Samuel was born 1813.
So many mysteries. I am going to have find one of Samuel's descendants and have that
DNA test done. Keep saying it but never seem to get around to it. How do we log onto the
DNA test results?

Got sidetracked from John and Jane but getting back on course. Just wanted to
make sure I had my info straight on the use of the name GILLESPIE
1. No one in the thrice married James family used this name -- that we know
of
2. Hiram -- John G
Absolom -- was his John G? brothers Robert, Benjamin and possibly sister
Susanna
John G -- AL to TX who may connect to brothers Samuel and James
Elizabeth -- actually used it as middle name of a female -- sister to James
All born pre 1800 except John G so he could be from the next generation
Seems like we have more but it is too early to think. Take care. Marilyn
