Hi gang, I am going to get back to my John and Jane McClure Callison family
again for awhile and leave the speculations alone. Just wanted to commit all of
my thoughts to paper in case anyone in the future wants to work on them.
Unfortunately without DNA testing, many of the unknowns are going to remain
unknown so these remarks are just speculation
Absolom with brothers, Benjamin and Robert -- If from James and Isabel would
have to be from John Sr since William already had a son Robert. There has
always been a mention of a Benjamin in connection with Moses. Needs DNA to confirm
a James and Isabel connection
Absolom possibly also with sister Suzanna -- both he and Suzanna married
FLACK's
Samuel and James, Known brothers, who went to Texas -- fit into birth
pattern in census records for William who married Marian Chapman. May be connected
in some manner though with John G born previous to marriage of William
John who married Elizabeth Cutlip, --- my thoughts -- son of William Sr. Same
John with William in Gallia Co., OH. Same John died 1813 War of 1812 Gallia
Co., OH. 3 children, Elizabeth, Margaret and Samuel -- all married Downings in
Pike Co., OH. Samuel found 1850 Kosciusko Co., IN born 1802 VA
Nancy who married Thomas Blair NOT daughter of James and Isabell but daughter
of John Sr.
Nancy who married Joseph Boiler, illigitimate daughter of Elizabeth Cutlip
Callison
Nancy who married Shadrack Newenham, daughter of William Sr.
Isabella Jardin, widow of James, who served in War of 1812 with William Sr.
and also William adm of James estate Gallia Co., OH --- may be a daughter of
William Sr.
James who died 1828-- first son of John Sr
Elizabeth who married James Morrison -- daughter of John Sr. known sister to
above James
Hiram, illitgitimate child-- no way of knowing if he descends from a male
Callison without DNA testing
Tay's, Margaret Rebecca Callison Aston -- daughter of Elisha and
granddaughter of James and Mary Callison Callison
Elizabeth Callison Juvinall -- not daughter of Moses but daughter of
Alexander
Elizabeth Callison in 1850 Missouri with children Colbert, David among others
-- widow of William Callison, son of Moses
Alexander -- son of William Sr or John Sr -- no idea from which one. Closely
connected with Moses
Moses -- not 100 % comfortable that he is son of William Sr.
William J. Callison -- I have nothing to show the JACKSON for the J. Don't
know where it came from. Would LOVE DNA testing to compare with both Callison
and Kellison.
Isaac who married Cynthia Robinson ??
Unknown male who married Martha McCorkle. ???
No clue as to how the children of James Callison (son of James and Ann
Gillespie Callison) and Sarah Craig could be Parkhill grandchildren unless the
Parkhills were maternal grandparents -- e.g. Parkhill/Craig were the parents of
Sarah
Richard and George who went to Mo -- son of Robert and Sidney Pharies/Faries
(son of James and Ann Gillespie Callison) along with Lewis who went to
Arkansas and William who was in TN in 1850. Daughters thought to be Elender and
Margaret who both married Morrison's in Lauderdale Co., AL
Daniel Callison/Kellison -- again we are dead in the water without DNA
testing.
Isaac who left a daughter Millicent -- ?? brother to James and Margaret --
the ? immigrants
So have I addressed all of our unknowns. If anyone wants to add/subtract from
this list, please jump right in. Some of these may be proven correct, some
incorrect and some will remain in the unknown catagory till we get to the next
life. <smile> Many years down the road, of course. I dream is that in 10 years
or so, DNA testing will be an accepted tool for genealogy research, the safety
will be proven and the price will be affordable for all. Unfortunately 10
years from now, some of the direct male lines will no longer be around for
testing and we will have lost the opportunity to use this tool.
Take care. Marilyn
