Marilyn,
this George Callison went to Arkansas and died in the 1860s, so that is another George W,.
who was in Mo. I used to be in contact with Joann Easterline who lived in Oklahoma and the
one in Mo. was her ancestor. He was from Blount Co., Ala. also so he was a big mystery. We
wondered if the one who was in Houston County in 1850 could have been a son of John G.
Callison, but there were definitely two different George W. Callisons.
Remember that I said there was a young woman living in the house with John G. Callison in
the 1870 census in Karnes Co., Texas, that had a daughter 7 years old who was a Callison?
She was the wife of the George W. who died. She later married Billy Benton. This same
Billy Benton used to baby set with Samuel's children. Are you more confused now?
Karnes County is by Gonzales where Samuel was. I had thought that this George W. might
have been killed in the Civil War but Cameron said he just died as far as she could
determine. The other George W. was married several times, or something, I can't
remember just what. I need to get out the letters from Joanne and tell you what she said
about him. I believe she mentioned his children if you are interested.
After I start working on the Callisons again I don't sleep at night. Cameron swears
the first thing she is going to do when she gets to Heaven is ask Samuel who his father
was.

I was looking for the James Callison that Joyce mentioned in the 1850 census
Texas. I was unable to find him so if anyone can tell me info on him, I'll
check it out. Anyway, while checking 1850 census Texas in Houston Co page 185 I
found a George KELLISON, age 21 born Alabama. Does anyone know who this many
might be. He was living with a Gorman family. Just curious On page 191 was
Samuel KELLISON and his family. Does anyone know of a connection with Samuel. I am
just wondering if he is possibly the same George that I think is a son of
Robert and Sidney Callison. I did not find this George in 1850 but did find him in
1860 Madison Co., Missouri age 26 born Al
1870 Howell Co., MO age 36 born Tn
1880 Howell Co., Mo age 48 born Alabama, parents born TN (children named
Robert, Richard, William among others)
So just wondering if this was the same George and if he traveled with his
relative Samuel to Texas??? TAke care all
