IT WOULD BE LOGICAL TO ASSUME THAT WILLIAM AND SON JOSEPH TOOK THE
CUMBERLAND GAP TRAIL FROM VIRGINIA THROUGH KENTUCKY, WHERE JOSEPH STUCK OUT ON HIS
OWN, AND ON TO OHIO WHERE LAND WAS BEING GIVIN AWAY.
AS SON ROBERT SHOWS UP IN KENTUCKY WITH FATHER WILLIAM IT CAN BE ASSUMED
THAT ROBERT IS WITH WILLIAM IN OHIO . BEING YOUNGER THAN JOSEPH, HE EVIDENTLY
DID NOT STRIKE OUT ON HIS OWN WHEN JOSEPH DID, BUT WENT ON TO OHIO WITH
FATHER WILLIAM, DAUGHTER NANCY, SON JAMES, AND?

Don't ask me why but sometimes in the middle of the night, I ponder some
genealogy puzzle. Last night, it was William Sr and his known and presumed
sons. We have William in 1796 in Virginia and in 1801 in Ohio. We have his
known son, Joseph who shows up for the first time in Kentucky in 1801 -- the
same year that William shows up in Ohio. So possibly William and Joseph
were together somewhere from 1796-1801 BUT WHERE?
Absolom is the first Callison found outside of Virginia -- 1799 in
Kentucky -- other than the family of the thrice married James Callison. John Sr,
John Jr and Alexander remain in Greenbrier/Bath Co until 1809.
William had no tithable males with him in Washington Co., OH-- James
(Isable Jones) Callison had his own listing. Where is Moses??
William (Marian Chapman) just shows up in Greenbrier in 1804 or so --
where did he come from??
So if anyone has any ideas -- just send them on. TAke care. Marilyn
