HEBRON:
Jim C. "Red" Callison, age 86, of Hebron, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November
12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 1, 1928 in Springdale, West Virginia to the last Andrew Bentley and
Mary Lynn (Anderson) Callison.
Jim served in the Korean Conflict as an Army Sergeant First Class.
He retired from Rockwell International and was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Newark. He enjoyed life on the farm, tending the animals, planting his massive garden and
working on his numerous Gravely tractors.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Pierce) Callison; three children, Darlene
(Randy) Ogle, David Callison and Darletta (Tom) Poos; the "apple of his eye",
grandson Andy Poos and "adopted" daughter, Donna Ours; sisters, Mary Bernice
Carter, Arlene (Bill) Hines, and Vivian (Wilbur) Gwinn; and sister-in-law, Phyllis
Callison.
He is also survived by numerous Pierce brothers and sisters-in-law as well as 35 nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Allyson Leigh Poos;
brothers, William and Oscar; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Spencer Patterson and
brother-in-law, Harry Carter.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at the First Baptist Church of
Newark, 1000 Granville Road, Newark, with Pastor Jim Addy officiating.
Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Licking Cemetery, Hebron where military honors will be
observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Friends may call Friday, November 14, from 5-8 pm at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van
Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath and Saturday from 11
am until noon at the First Baptist Church.
