I've read some of your posts on the Callison Mailing List, which I just joined. Just
in the past week even though I've been researching my Peter Morrison for years -
I've discovered that his wife Eleanor (Ellender) was a Callison. This only came about
because a cousin I research with found Peter living in Madison County, Tennessee at age 80
as a widower with his daughter Ann. At first glance, we weren't even sure this was our
Peter, but he kept wading through census data. And then he was searching in Lauderdale
County, Alabama for info on his wife's family when he saw marriage records for a Peter
Morrison and Ellender Collison and a record for a Benjamin Morrison and Margaret
Callison.
We've long thought Benjamin was a brother of Peter but got stuck and moved on. Now we
are very certain we are on the right track. I further think Peter and Benjamin's
father was Peter Morrison who died in Lauderdale County, Alabama in 1854 and is buried at
Wesley Chapel Cemetery. I think he was married at least three times (but this is
cautionary speculation). I found or rather my cousin found marriage records for several
Peter Morrison's. I think the senior Peter Morrison married second Polly Young and
third Ann Perry.
Not to confuse the issues but I am descended from the daughter of Peter W. Morrison and
Ellender Callison who was named Margaret. She married David Williams and I believe her
sister Ann married David's brother John T. Williams.
Margaret and David's daughter Mary E. Wiliiams was my second great grandmother and our
immediate generations back to Mary were all born in Scott County, Arkansas (which includes
me) and I still have family there.
I've seen a few postings here and there wondering what happened to Peter &
Ellender/Eleanor and Benjamin and Margaret so now you know more.
