Oh this is so good to know -- the girls just kind of get lost in the translation
sometimes. Always thought that Maragaret and Elender were children of James and Ann
Gillespie Callison since he had sisters with those names. I have a few notes here from
files in Lauderdale Co., AL that may or may not be helpful.
March 1856
Division of estate of Peter Morrison (79-V) deceased 1850 by Jarred Graham to Frances
married 1819 Vol 104 pg 2 wife of Eli Fares and other Morrison heirs.
So sorry that my shorthand was written so long ago that I can no longer decipher what in
the world that I meant.
I don't know if the Morrisons were Faries heirs or not -- the two families were
certainly connected. Robert Callison married Sidney Faries in TN but they were in AL also.
She was the d/o Richard.
I mostly did Faries notes
Benjamin Morrison (Peter) to Margaret Collison April 30, 1925by Alexander Faries M.G
In 1854 Vol 60 ( I think all of these were from the genealogical newsletters from that
county as per the volumne numbers
Ann Morrison 60 V (does this mean volume 60) Widow
Peter, Benjamine, Joseph, John, David,Frances Faires, William Harman children, Rhoda
Gracie, Mary Ann Arnold, Jarred Gresham, (some reference to Peter), no children left
residing in Al except widow and one son who failed to appear
October 1855 James Gresham was the administrator of Peter Morrison, deceased
Peter Morrison to Eleanor Ann Collison November 28, 1824 by A. Faries
Peter Morrison to Polly Young Nove 6, 1823
Book has the first one recorded March 15, 1824 and the second one March 12, 1825 but
appears to be backwards
Eli Faries and Francis Morrisson (Peter) Jan 6, 1819 by McNelly
Sorry that this is so jumbled but maybe you can find enough tidbits to know where to look
for records if you don't already have them.
Just want to mention that there is a DNA test that tests both male and female lines on
familytreedna.com.
There are two Callison lines who have been tested -- it is most accurate within 5
generations and our common ancestor would go back to James Callison of 1745 Augusta Co.,
VA -- much longer than 5 generations but I have had some matches from that long ago. Just
something to keep in mind. You MIGHT find some closer cousins though in the process.
Expensive but it goes on sale periodically.
So nice to know about some of THE GIRLS. Thank you so much and again so sorry for my
jumble. Take care. Marilyn

I've read some of your posts on the Callison Mailing List, which I just joined.
Just in the past week even though I've been researching my Peter Morrison for
years - I've discovered that his wife Eleanor (Ellender) was a Callison. This
only came about because a cousin I research with found Peter living in Madison
County, Tennessee at age 80 as a widower with his daughter Ann. At first glance,
we weren't even sure this was our Peter, but he kept wading through census data.
And then he was searching in Lauderdale County, Alabama for info on his wife's
family when he saw marriage records for a Peter Morrison and Ellender Collison
and a record for a Benjamin Morrison and Margaret Callison.
We've long thought Benjamin was a brother of Peter but got stuck and moved on.
Now we are very certain we are on the right track. I further think Peter and
Benjamin's father was Peter Morrison who died in Lauderdale County, Alabama in
1854 and is buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. I think he was married at least
three times (but this is cautionary speculation). I found or rather my cousin
found marriage records for several Peter Morrison's. I think the senior Peter
Morrison married second Polly Young and third Ann Perry.
Not to confuse the issues but I am descended from the daughter of Peter W.
Morrison and Ellender Callison who was named Margaret. She married David
Williams and I believe her sister Ann married David's brother John T. Williams.
Margaret and David's daughter Mary E. Wiliiams was my second great grandmother
and our immediate generations back to Mary were all born in Scott County,
Arkansas (which includes me) and I still have family there.
I've seen a few postings here and there wondering what happened to Peter &
Ellender/Eleanor and Benjamin and Margaret so now you know more.
