Danny,
Here is a map of the Beverley Manor/Grant. You can find James Callison's land
-- it helps to look for the names that he was near == Campbell, Linn, etc. He
got 276 acres and 230 acres. This is near present day Staunton, VA. He is
also listed in Rockbridge Co., VA because some of the land was claimed by both
counties. Young's mill was in Rockbridge Co on present day Route 669 on Whistle
Creek. North Mountain Church is at the intersection of Route 693 and 701.
Note: Jackson's River was part of the James River at that time

Here is another map showing the meeting houses (churches) along with some
geographic locations -- that might help identify their land. They attended the
North Mountain Meeting House and there is still a building on that site in
Augusta Co.

Hi Danny,
I forwarded your message to Diane Jones- my second cousin. Diane has more
info than I do - and might be able to give you it.
Thank you,
Madeline Callison
I will be traveling through Virginia over the next three weeks and would appreciate any specific location of land owned by John or James Callison near Augusta, Bath, or Greenbrier between 1750 and 1800.

Hi all, Madeline sent this both to John and myself. I hope that she has now
joined the mail list for any responses. We had communicated quite a few years
ago and even though there is no concrete proof that George W is the grandson of
James Jr, (through his son, Robert) there is plenty of circumstantial.
He was born in Alabama where Robert and Sidney were living
He was closely connected with Richard Callison -- Sidney's father was named
Richard
He is of an age to be enumerated with Robert in 1840
If my memory serves me correctly, he named a son Robert.
Any and all input welcome. Take care. Marilyn
