HELP, Dottie sent the following info on Vermilion Co Illinois. I guess that
the Isaac mentioned is the same Isaac who married Huldah Hickman and descended
from the thrice married James Callison
Thanks a bunch Dottie for inputting all of that land info. Note to all, we
are still waiting on DNA results with more markers from John Jr line and 2 from
Moses. Guess no one else is interested in hopping a ride on this freight train

Now -- do you suppose that the Greenbrier Callisons remained in contact from
1810 when Moses left for Ohio and 1827 when he bought land in the same county
as this other Callison. And who the heck is Mary Ann Wright
On our Callison master page we have that Isaac Callison and Hulda Hickmans
children were born in Greenbrier Va in the 1830's so I guess he could have just
bought the land but remained in Virginia. Their son married Mary GOLDEN in
1854 Vermilion Co but obviously the families knew each other in 1825. Isaac did
not married Hulda until 1828 in Bath Co., VA so what the heck was he doing
owning land in Illinois. This 1825 is the earliest entry we have for Callison
family in Illinois -- that I know of
Land Patents which are not Grantor to Grantee but from the government have
Absolom COLLISON patent of Dec. 8, 1830 as Absolom of Pike Co., OH. Guess that
is why I cannot find him in the 1830 census for Illinois. He Should still be in
Ohio for that census.
An Elisha COLLISON got land in Vermilion Co in 1831 -- He was from Vermilion
Co., IL. Anyone know anything about him
Another item of interest in land patents.
There is a John CALLISON in Dewitt Co., IL who got land in Nov. 1839 BUT he
lived in Macon Co., IL at the time. John, line of Absolom and Ann Flack
Callison was in Dewitt Co.
Lines from Joseph Callison of Kentucky were getting land in Hancock Co., IL
by 1840
The Newenham family -- Shadrack and Nancy CALLISON were buying land in Brown
Co IL in 1840 but were living in Schuyler Co
NO KELLISON in Illinois.
Anyone got any words of wisdom about these people. I am going to be out of
town for a week so MAYBE I'll have LOTS of emails when I get home. Take care.
