I know that James Callison left land in his will to his sons, Robert and

found from them was

Does anyone have the entries for Augusta Co, Va showing the land that was
left by James1 to Isabell and then sold about 1808 apparently after her death by
her sons, Robert and James

Terry Burnside sent a great timeline that he developed so I am in contact
with him to try to corrdintate what we have so far. I am wondering if anyone has
ANY info on this case that I found in an online family file. There is a list
of sources for all the entries so I dont know where this particular one came
from. I would guess that the James mentioned is James2. Arthur McClure's
daughter married John Callison Jr in July of that year
31 Mar 1789, James Callison vs Arthur McClure, James and Samual Gillilan
undertook for the deft. On motion of deft attorney, writ of injury obtained in
this case is set aside whereon pleads the general issue.

Does anyone have any wills or legal recordings to show the children of a
Callison descendant or for a child or married into the Callison line. I'll start
with James Callison who was married to Isabel. I don't have the will for James
2 on this computer so if someone could sent that I'll can keep it with his
file.

Jane, How sad about your niece. Where did she die. I want to make sure that I
keep all of my info as correct as possible. Ovarian cancer can be such a
"killer" of women. SAD.
I had a great time in SLC. The Inn at Temple Square is such a wonderful place
to stay and the weather was actually good. Did not snow until two days before
we were to come home. I found lots of tidbits on the Jackson County, Ohio
group.
Do you have any ELLIOTT land records for Virginia for James ELLIOTT. Trying
to see if they lived close to the Callisons or the Callison/Morris families.
Augusta/Botetourt/Greenbrier/Bath County area
Have you been able to find out what Kincaid that Ann Elliott Kincaid Buckley
married. I know there were some Kincaid/Callison dealings in Virginia also.
Take care all

Marilyn,
Thanks for the information. I will stick it with my other stuff. How was your
trip to Salt Lake City? I am sure you found a lot of good stuff.
I went to Houston for the Spring DAR convention in eary March. We had a
wonderful time.
I wanted to let you know that my neice Roberta Jane (Elliott) Hobbs died
March 9, 2004 with Cancer. She started treatment in November of 2002. So she had
a really hard time the last few months. The sad part is so young, and also she
left a 12 year old son. She had ovarian cancer that did it job on her. She
was the daughter of my brother Robert Wayne Elliott. She was buried on March 12,
2004 in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, in Oswego, Labette Co., Kansas. You
might want to add that to her file.
Thanks.

Juhling
Juhling, I have a list of names of people that I used to correspond with
before there was a Callison mail list. Since I wasn't sure who signed up for the
list and who didn't that is where the other names came from. What I am
attempting to do is show where the first couple of generations of Callison lived at
what time and also the families for the people who married into the family --
like the McClungs, the McClures, the Elliotts, the Morris and so many others.
Justt thought a time line might be helpful in the future for any questions. So
yes, you are right -- any more originial data would be wonderful. Take care
Marilyn
The fact that I got the message and my name doesn't seem to be on the group
of names makes me think I must be on the list.
What can I do with the list of names you sent out? What are you asking

Not sure how many of you joined the Callison mail list. If you did not, it
might make it easier to stay in contact if you want to join in. Sorry for those
of you who got this twice. Just let me know that you are on the group mail list
(Just trying to document proximity of the various branchs and the families
who married into the Callison family) There are some assumptions made throughout
that will have a ? in the entry. The children of James1 and James 2 are
documented in wills. The documented children of John and William (sons of of
James1) are John Jr and Isabella (of John) and Joseph, Robert and John (of William).
Also trying to make note of the lines that used Alexander, Absolum and
Gillespie to see if any pattern. Could you please check your early family notes and
add them into this list or send to me to add them into my list. Looking for
birth, death, marriage, census, tax records, land records for these counties.
Just make your list up through 1827 or so. I know that Jesse Callison (James2)
was in Washington County in this time period but don't have all of the
particulars (census, marriage etc.) so we will have all of the early Virginia records
in one spot. Then can tackle Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio etc. <smile> I
know there are alot of missing facts here.Take care all
