My Absalom Callison, who married Ann Flack, used the Gillespie name -
all the way down to my grandfather. Absalom and Ann had a child -
Gillespy, who died when he was twelve. They had a son, Robert, who
named a child Absalom Gillespie Callison, and the name was continued
down that line.

Subject: [CALLISON] Gillespie name
Could anyone with a line that used the name Gillespie other than the
line of
James Callison and Anne Gillespie, please let me know which line it is.
So
far, I know that Absolom Callison and Elizabeth Callison Morrison both
used this
name. Just trying to see if I can connect the dots----
Thanks a bunch. Take care
Marilyn

John, I'll have to study a little more but thought that someone from Josephs
line was the minister who married someone in Nancy's line. Probably way over
the edge here. Stayed up wayyyyyy too long into the AM hours last night. Take
care all

The wagon train where Nancy's son Absolum went with Gilmore and died of
cholera is the only connection I have with Joseph's family.
Were you thinking ot the musket my cousin has that belonged to John
Callison brother to Joseph?
John
Samuel Callison/Collison born 1801 married Elizabeth Downing Pike Co 1831 and
also Margaret Callison/Collison married Joseph Downing 1823 PikeCo., Oh. Are
there any other circa 1800 births that I have missed? Take care all
Marilyn
Need to add Samuel Callison born 1801 Virginia, to Pike Co. Ohio and then on
to Kosciusko Co., IN.
John <roundmt> could you fill me in AGAIN on the connection between Nancy
Callison Newenham family and your line from Joseph. I know the wagon train was
one connection but I think you told me earlier about some other connections.
Thanks a bunch. Take care
