Anne,
I had not heard of the Mason Jar system - but it just sounds like Texas! I'm
glad it brought back memories - and gave you an idea for a story! I'd love
to read it!
It's been lots of fun hearing all these ideas from all different kinds of
people. I had no idea that posting would get this kind of response. The
person who punches the holes in the laminated cards makes kind of an
eye-screw shape from stiff but thin wire and hangs 2 or 3 cards on it a few
inches above the ground. She said the same thing - close to the stone to be
out of way of the mower!
And contacting the cemetery association is a great thought. Most of them
belong because they have family buried there, and have probably lived in the
area a long time and know just about everybody! Going on a clean-up day
would also be a good way to make contacts, besides doing a good deed for the
day!
Thanks for sharing your ideas - we're going to have this worked out to a
science. I'm saving these ideas in my "Filing Cabinet", and I'm really
going
to try some of them this spring - maybe before Easter, but definitely before
Memorial Day! That's the biggest cemetery-visiting day of the year! Good
luck........
Pat
