What a terrific idea! And it gave me one -- make the lamination sheet
slightly larger than the card, use a hole punch and a good sturdy
brightly-colored golf tee! Find a place that won't be in the way of the
mower, say close to the base of the stone, but far enough away it won't be in
the way of the weed eater -- maybe 2"?
Another idea might be to leave (or mail) a card, where it's possible, with
the cemetery society. Many of the older cemeteries have signs posted with
phone numbers. I have called these people more than once and sometimes they
even know "someone you should maybe talk to." Where there is actually an
onsite office, they might be willing to put them in files or on a bulletin
board in their office or in a Rolodex (by name of the deceased) "if you sweet
talk them a bit."
I remember seeing the Mason Jar Message system in more than one Texas
graveyard! I had forgotten about that --thanks for the memory! It's given
me an idea for a short story, too!
