Please take any info from me with a grain of salt. I have only just begun this research
and you have been at it a long while. I have no formal documentation confirming any of
this.
I saw in one of the posts the mention of Margaret Callis marrying Joseph F. Williams. I
have hand written family notes indicating Joseph Franklin Williams (b. 1837 in Robertson
Co., TN/d. Jan 1906) married Margaret Elizabeth Callis. I do not know if this is your
Margaret Callis. I do not have any dates concerning Margaret. The married couple was
shown on the 1860 census in Sumner Co., TN with one son William. Margaret's age was
listed as 17, making her birth year circa 1843.
Their son, William John Franklin Williams, was born Nov 31, 1858 and died June 26, 1896
(Nov 31 (?) oh, well, they are old handwritten family notes). There was also a daughter,
Bettie O'Sale (sp?), and another son, James. I have no info on them.
Joseph Franklin Williams enlisted with Company E, 7th Infantry. He began fighting at
Seven Pines and was captured at Gettysburg. He was imprisoned at Ft. Delaware where he
was released April 1865.
I have other dates for subsequent descendants, but I don't know if these are your
people. If you need any other info, I'll share what I have. Good luck.
