Anitra:
I sent this to your email address, but it bounced back.
I am an amateur genealogist for the Callis families throughout the US and
there are a very few Elams in my records. But, I'll give you what I have.
Incidentally, I live near Sacramento, but originally from Kentucky.
Henry Banister Callis married Sally Graves and they had the following
children:
Francis Callis born Nov 20, 1817 in VA
Sarah Ann Callis born March 8, 1819 in VA. She married Josiah Elam born
1819 in NC. They had the following children:
John Elam born 1843 in Tennessee
Sarah Elam born 1846 in Tennessee
Taylor M. Elam born 1848 in Tennessee
Tabetha Elam born 1859 in Texas
Henry Banister had three wives Sally Graves, Sally Green and Lucinda Jane
Robeson. My ancestry is via Henry and his second wife. Henry died and
Lucinda came to California via Texas along with some children and step
children and they settled in the Santa Babara, CA area. Some are buried in
the Carpenteria cemetery from what I understand. There were no Elams in that
group according to my records. I notice that Tabetha Elam went to Texas and
she may have gone on to California.
Take care.
Ben
