I am not part of this line, but find this so interesting and fulfilling
after the time of looking and looking for info to find this wonderful piece

Elwood Eugene Callis was a third generation owner and operator of Callis'
Wharf
on Gwynn's Island, Virginia. Callis' Wharf was a seafood processing
plant and steamboat dock. The facility still exixts but the industry has
gone the way of most seafood plants on the lower Chesapeake Bay. his
descendants still live in the area (Mathews County, Virginia).
I live on Gwynn's Island but am not closely related.
