Hi Pat,
I am Dana Callis and I live in Chesapeake Virginia. I make frequent trips
to see my family in Mathews County (nest of us Callis's there) and to the
state library in Richmond. It looks like you and your cousins could use a
Virginia contact. What books do you need and I'll see what I can find.

Hi Cousin Nikki!
Yes it looks we have one and the same Henry and Sarah (with a difference,
tho')! I have to admit, I didn't do any of this research - I'm lucky
enough
to have a very industrious first cousin who gave me this file. She
got a
lot
of the old information from a published Callis family book, by Helena
Callis
McGinnis - and did more herself. Unfortunately, the only offspring
listed
for any of Henry's children are in my direct line!
I don't know how much of this is documented -- I have none myself -- so
use
it as clues. We do have some differing information.....

Creek Twnsp, near Pea Ridge, and started Twelve Corners
Cemetery as a family cemetery, on their land. It's by Twelve
Corners Church. Paschal Callis's son, John Henry, married
William's g-dau, Martha Belle Warren, in 1890, but Paschal
Callis was buried there in 1871.(?)]
*** More notes from David Callis: Birthdates of David's siblings,
children
of Henry Callis, are from David's bible records as published by
his
gg-g'son,
William Cocking.
When I got tired and just typed "Lunenburg" -- it means Lunenburg Co, VA.
I would love to get my hands on those two publications mentioned, and I
search by the author's name periodically -- but no luck yet!
I apologise for the delay in getting this posted - I started it last week,
and had to put it on hold till now.
What do you think of the possibility that William was born to Henry and a
first wife -- not Henry and Sarah Morris?
Good luck!
