Subject: COLLICUTT / COLLICUT / COLICUT
Hi,
New to the Lunenburg list, and am researching the COLLICUTT / COLLICUT / COLICUT surnames.
It appears the various spellings have been used in the past couple of hundred years.
The point I am stuck is George COLLICUT and wife Elizabeth HOGIN (HOAGG), were married in
Halifax in 1760. George had settled in Chester in 1759.
I have also found reference to Thomas COLLICUT, Halifax census of 1752. His wife's
name was Margaret, died in Chestr Mar. 20, 1779. I don't have any references to her
Maiden name.
I wish to establish the above as correct, and find out where Thomas and his wife (along
with George) came from. I suspect New England given the era, but have no idea. Anyone out
there with some direct references, or ideas that I can check out?
Thaks, and am enjoying the Lunenburg group
