Hi Dennis:
Anything pertaining to Attala Co. is of interest to me. I am researching
CALCOTE, ALLEN, RIDDELL, BROCK, LAMB, AND SEGLER families in the Webster,
Choctaw, and Attala areas. In the Attala area, I am seeking Stephen and
James O. Calcote, and Margaret Viriginia Allen m. to Charles Lafayette
Brock. I need a copy of will and estate inventory from Kosciusko for
settlement of Stephen Calcote's estate.
I feel like it is down in the basement, but eluded me on my visit to the
Chancery Clerk's office. I just have to put on my jeans when I go back
and roll up my sleeves and go thru file by file until I uncover it. It is
in the old records (jan - Mar 1843) which are not in any kind of order
in the basement.
I have called and written the Clerk's office requesting copies for which
I am willing to pay, but to no avail.
Good luck on your trip. Ann Breedlove of the library staff is excellent.

Hello, Wanda,
I certainly will, but am unable to project when this will be. Right
now, I
am planning on an October visit to Kosciusko, with interviews
involving
seniors, etc., i.e., I am still very much in the research stages of
this
project. What might be your own interest (s) in this, Wanda?
