I am new to the list and would like to exchange information with anyone
researching the Callender's of Pike County, Ohio and Allamakee County,
Iowa. I have lots of bits and pieces, but have been unable to make key
conncetions.
I descend from Sarah Callender who married George Elsey in 1843 in Pike
County, Ohio. By 1845, they were in Green County Wisconsin, and by 1850
in Allamakee County, Iowa. Susan Callender was listed on the 1850
census with the Elsey family and is believed to be the mother of Sarah.
Jacob Callender may have been Sarah's father. Indications are that
William D Callender and Isaac Callender may be brothers of either Sarah
or Jacob, but so far I have found no definite connections.
I am listing some unrelated information that I have gleaned on various
William Callender's. Can anyone give me any information on any of
them? Any help would be appreciated.
