We are referring to the two "colonial" Callaway immigrants to America. We know
about your Samuel H. Callaway - and a number of other Callaways (var. sp.) who came to US
at later dates. Some came direct from UK, and others via Canada. But, the question we
were dealing with was about the "colonial" immigrants.

I am puzzled about this? My Greatgrandfather seemed to have immigrated as a child to
Illinois in 1846, from England.
This following line is from a census record.
Samuel H. CALLAWAY Head W M 70 M1 48 ENGLAND ENGLAND ENGLAND
Immigrated to US in 1846, Naturalized, Own Income, OFH
What immigrant Callaway's do you mean?
cc
you mean>Thomas Callaway "of Cornwall, England" is not the ancestor of
any
Callaways in America. First, no one knows that Thomas Callaway came
from Cornwall, England. Second, Thomas Callaway "dyed in this country
with NO HEIRS." His land reverted to the crown and was re-granted to
another person. He had NO children.
The two immigrant Callaway ancestors are:
JOSEPH CALLAWAY of Essex Co, VA. He is the ancestor of those who went
to Bedford Co, VA and some on to western NC, KY, etc.
PETER CALLAWAY of Somerset Co, MD. He is ancestor of those who remained
on the DelMarVA peninsula, those who moved early to NC and then to
Wilkes Co, GA; others who moved to GA later, and a group who moved the
the mid-west states, particularly Indiana & Illinois at early dates.
Later generations of both of these ancestors intermingled during the
western migrations in the US.
Everyone please erase "Thomas Callaway of Charles City Co, VA &
Cornwall, England" from your charts. He is a "fake" ancestor.
