To Richard M. -
Richard, the old (1930's/40's) Callaway Family Tree is full of errors.
Right at the beginning, Thomas Callaway of Cornwall, England (not
proved) "dyed in this country with no heirs" and therefore his land in
Charles City Co, VA reverted to the Crown.
The chart mixes together the two distinct major colonial branches of the
Callaway family. They are not related on this side of the pond.
I hope "the Chart" is not available on the web as a computer file!
The Callaway Family Association is working on building a new chart,
using Family Tree Maker. This is a membership volunteer project, so it
will take awhile. We are using the Pedigree and Family Group Charts
submitted by our members over the last 25 years. After entering all of
the data, then the file will have to be checked for discrepancies and
errors. If you have updates, additions and corrections, we would be
glad to hear from you.
