Years ago, 15 years or perhaps earlier, Reader's Digest published the condensation of
a book on Daniel Boone in one of its monthly publications. The author attempted to show
that Daniel Boone could not be father of Jemima, by following Daniel's steps at the
time of Jemima's conception, concluding that Daniel was not at home when Jemima was
conceived. There was a huge outcry from both Boone and Callaway researchers discrediting
the author's conclusion. Everyone felt that the records did not exist to prove the
author's conclusion, and that this was an attermpt at sensationalism on behalf of the
author. There are indeed a lot of records available on Daniel Boone, in Draper and other
sources which show Daniel's movements, but the authorities did not feel the the case
was made as the author had claimed. I would not waste a lot of time on this.
