Sorry if everyone is getting tired of my rather frequent
posts lately, but I seem to be making pretty good
progress with my CALLAWAY line.
I am virtually certain that the William CALLAWAY
in Newton Co. GA in 1830 was my ancestor. He
was in Benton Co. AL (now Calhoun Co.) in 1840.
I am wondering if the William CALLAWAY who was
in Oglethorpe Co. GA in 1820 and 1824 was the same
man who later moved to Newton Co. by 1830? The
household seems to match except for an older daughter
who wasn't on the 1830 census, but she could have
married by then.
Also, there is an Asa COLAWAY listed on the 1820
Oglethorpe Co. GA census, p. 193. He isn't listed in
the Callaway Family Association website census records.
Was he accidentally missed? Does anyone know about
him? Does anyone have access to that census so he
can be added to the database?
I appreciate any help on this.
