Message Board Post:
Hello,
My GGG Grandfather was Samuel Calloway (1800-~1870) married to Lucy Coble.
My grandfather always said that we were related to Daniel Boone but I've
never found any proof of that. I recently saw mention of a relationship
between Samuel Callaway (Sr?) and Daniel Boone.
Does anybody have information? Or does anybody have access to this book?
It's not in any libraries that I'm close to.
Samuel Callaway, his ancestors and descendents of Kentucky, Missouri, and
elsewhere
There's another book "
The Life and Times of Colonel Daniel Boone" that has this excerpt:
Daniel Boon who still lived on the Yadkin though he had previously hunted
on the Western waters came again this year to explore the country being
employed for this purpose by Henderson & Company With him came Samuel
Callaway his kinsman and the ancestor of the respectable family of that
name pioneers of Tennessee Kentucky and Missouri Callaway was at the side
of Boon when approaching the spurs of the Cumberland Mountain and in
view...
But I'm not sure if this is my Samuel Calloway.
thanks,
Jennifer
