Dennis,
Looking around the court records in Lambertville and the County will
probably produce some good stuff about Patrick. I recommend that you
also look in the old St. John R. C. Church Cemetery and Cemetery
Records. Ellie (Callan) and I also were able to look in the marriage
and birth records at St. Johns and copy relevant data in the office,
under supervision, but they were very busy in the office, so we could
not copy all the relevant pages. We paid a small sum for a few copies,
but a donation is always helpful to the Church. Their books are old and
should be transferred to a computer file, to reduce the wear. This was
apparently not a priority, and we didn't press. The only reason we able
to definitely figure out what county in Ireland the Hugh (Elizabeth
McGregor/McGroder) and Richard Callans came from was because it is on
Hugh's gravestone in the old cemetery. When we went to County Louth, the
Cathedral for the Louth area, which was in Armagh, had transfered all
the old church books onto a Wang minicomputer and one of the computer
were nice enough (for 20#) to help us right then and there. We were
lucky, because it was extremely rare to have a Richard Callan as a son
of Hugh at a particular time frame. There are a lot of Richard Callans
in the area, so that wouldn't have helped by itself. Hugh also had
sisters in Lambertville as noted on hugh's monument. Someone who cared
redid the monument, fairly recently.
I had alot of library directory and church data on Patrick Calla and
Ann, but i think I already gave it to you. If not, I will give it again.

Mike,
looks like the URL that you posted comes from T Rue. The McGuire married a Callan that
was the daughter of Hugh Callan.
My GGGGreat Grandfather Patrick come over in 1849 and went to Lambertville presumanly
because the Callans there (Hugh) were relatives. I am loking for that connection.
Rue's research does not go in that direction.
Mike AW Roberts has McGuire roots on his wife's side but also no direct tie-in to the
balance of the Callans there. I grew up in Trenton and right across the river in
Morrisville were anohter branch of the Callans that I never knew existed. There are
Charles in both branches who worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. I lost the other
Charles so he may have passed on I am afraid.
I need to get up to Lambertville some day and snoop around in thhe office records.
