William, I have the first page of a letter written Sept. 30, 1909 to my great
grandfather, Thomas J. Callan, of Brooklyn, NY. The letter is on letterhead from The
Chas. W. Scranton Co., Investment Brokers, 103 Orange St., New Haven, Conn. and begins:
"Dear Cousin Tom: How are you. My sister Anna and I are just about getting back to
life again after that strenous trip we made to your city." I'm quite sure that
I've located the family in the 1900 and 1910 census in New Haven. Family members are:
Charles M. (Head), Maria (Wife), John J. (son), Anna (daughter), Thomas F. (son), Walter
D. (son), Albert (son), Mary E. (daughter), Charles J. (son). The reason I believe this
is the correct family is that Thomas F. is reported to work in "Broker's
Office." I would be interested in knowing if any of these Callans are known to be
related to your James and John. Thanks, Char-Lu
