There are two (2) Peter CALLAN families in Dundalk in the mid 1800's, who
had their children baptized at St. Patrick's in Dundalk. RC
Peter CALLAN and Jane MORGAN who lived in Castletown had 2 sons baptized at
St. Patrick's:
Thomas CALLAN - born or bap: 22 June1837
Peter CALAN - born or bap: 26 June 1846
That's a nine year gap between the two sons.
The other Peter CALLAN is my ancestor and he did not leave Ireland.
His parents were: Michael CALLAN and Alice RICE
Peter CALLAN and Catherine MORGAN of Bridge St. Dundalk
The children:
Michael CALLAN b/b 16 Nov 1856 - I have no idea what happened to this person
Patrick Joseph CALLAN b/b 9 March 1858 lived on Bridge Street had a bunch of
children. Many of his grandchildren still live in Ireland.
James CALLAN b/b 6 Feb 1860 worked for the Railroad, had an Anthony and
Joseph who moved to London and a daughter Molly who never married, and died
in Ireland.
Neither of the above Peter CALLAN's married at St. Patrick's in Dundalk.
I also have McBRIDE as cousins in Phila. PA where my g,g, grandfather Joseph
CALLAN aka COLLINS lived before moving the family to Conshohocken about
1863.
Peace,
Donna on Cape Cod
