Hello Teresa!
Wow, lots of common names but no connection that I can see....yet. I have 2
Patrick Callan's (father & son), 2 Matilda's (mother & daughter), a
Callan
married a Sheridan....
I have your email and will send you an invitation to my Callan tree at
Ancestry.com so you can take a look at the name. You won't be able to see
living people, but it's the deceased people that would be of most interest
to you.
Funny, I've had a few messages on Rootsweb for years and never got a reply.
Now I've gotten 2 in one day!
Ally

Subject: [CALLAN] Re CALLAN of New Windsor
I was interested to see a couple of names in these e mails. My own Callans
have no proven link with New York. However my father understood that his
grandfather was the youngest of a long family and that the older siblings
had migrated across the world particularly to America. My great grandfather
Patrick was a Callan from County Monaghan born about 1848 whose parents were
James Callan of Drumgoose and Rose Sheridan of Skeriff Tichburn in County
Armagh. He therefore had Sheridan cousins. I suspect that the Sheridans
also migrated across the world. In addition my Callan grandmother Matilda
(Tillie) nee Connelly had a "cousin" Tillie who married a Callan in New
York. Would it be possible to have some information on this family so I can
work out whether they are linked. I have no idea what Patrick's siblings
were called. My father believed that there may even have been another
Patrick!
