I've "rescued" an old arrest warrant and supporting documents issued
against
Thomas BURROWS who was charged with fornication with a married woman. The
warrant was based on the sworn complaint by S. W. WALTERS. The woman is
identified in the documents as Eva May WALTERS and her husband as William A.
WALTERS. The warrant was originally issued on 8 March 1911 document was
filed in court on 16 August 1911 in Williamsport, PA. I wasn't able to get
a positive identification on the members of the WALTERS Family included in
this situation. Based on limited research I was able to gather the
following information regarding Thomas and his family:
Thomas F. or L. BURROWS was b. 1868 in Pennsylvania to parents James BURROWS
(b . 1820) and Catherine CALLAHAN (b. 1833). Thomas was one of 6 children
born to this couple including, Eliza M.; Katie; James Francis or E.; William
H.; Thomas; and Eugene BURROWS, all born between 1858 and 1873. Thomas
never married and had only one child, a son Carl L. BURROWS (1904-1967) who
was born to Ida May MOYER (1880-1949). Thomas died 25 Feb 1917 in Bristol,
PA in a railroad accident and is buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in
Garden View, PA. Thomas' brother Rev. Eugene A. BURROWS was b. 28 Oct 1872
and died 5 Mar 1908 and is also buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery along
with Thomas.
Their sister Elizabeth M. BURROWS who died 17 Dec 1948 in Williamsport, PA
is buried along with the brother in the same cemetery. It appears that
their Mother Catherine CALLAHAN was b. 18 Jul 1829 in Ireland and died 18
Sept 1910 in Williamsport, PA, she too is buried in the Mount Carmel
Cemetery with her children. Census records provide the following
information regarding the family:

I am hoping to locate someone from this BURROWS Family so that this
interesting old item of history can be returned to the care of family. If
you are a member of this BURROWS Family, or you know someone who might be,
