Frank,
I, too, am researching the CALLAHAN clan that emigrated from County Cork, Ireland in
the late 1700s or early 1800s. My line stems
from John Davis O'Callaghan and Margaret Hutchison. Most of my research has been on
the Internet and through known relatives. Now it is
time to get serious and seek the aid of the LDS and other repositories.
The closest I can come to your Mary Ellen is Mary Electa; however Mary Electa was
born in Bates County Missouri.
I'll keep searching. You do the same. Somewhere out there is our answers.

Hello,
I'm trying to track my elusive ggrandmother Mary Ellen callahan who married a
Michael TOBIN ca 1860 in NY city area.
Despite lots of work I have no idea where she was born, who her parents were
etc.
I'd like to touch base with fellow list members who are searching for their
Callahan lines at this time and place. Any help, or Callahan references might
prove useful...so please don't hesitate to reply:) Slainte' Frank
