I've omitted my immediate family history. Below is very rough list of the
clan:
I recall seeing some in the book had moved from VA to MO/ARK and some of
their descendants to Ohio.
It's time to play computer games with my daughter. I'll check the book this
weekend and send more names.
Good luck

Hi, C.M. Callahan
Thanks for your interest! My branch of the Callaghan/O'Callaghan family is
from the line of John Davis Callaghan/O'Callaghan; born in Ireland 1759,
died in Jackson County, Ohio 1839. He was married to Margaret Hutchinson in
VA. Children of this union were Jeremiah Riley O'Callaghan; John
Callaghan/O'Callaghan, Junior; William O.H. Callaghan; Mary Ann
O'Callaghan;
Sarah Bird O,Callaghan; Benjamin Callaghan; and Owen Callaghan. Their
birth
dates cover the years from 1795 to 1808, with different sources giving
birth
sites as Bath County, Greenbriar County, and Wyeth County - all in VA.
If
these Ohio names match your information from your photocopy of an old
book,
please respond. Any info would be appreciated!
A tidbit of info from my family line. My g-grandfather William A
Callaghan, son of Benjamin & grandson of John, served in the 36th OVI in
the
Civil War. During a campaign into Virginia, his outfit marched through
the
hamlet of Callaghan, Virginia. I have often wondered if he had any kin in
the area, or if he ever had to do battle with Confederate kin. ??? Looking
forward to your response!
