John,
I had a Grand Uncle Thomas Callahan that once lived in Salt Lake
=
City, as well as in San Francisco for a time. In his mother's =
(Katherine [Sullivan] Callahan) obituary in 1933 he was listed as
San =
Francisco, and I believe in his father's (Patrick Callahan)
obituary in =
1942 that he was listed in Salt Lake City.
His father Patrick was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. =
Patrick's parents (Patrick Callahan, Julia [Fitzgerald] Callahan)
were =
born in Ireland. Thomas' mother Katherine Sullivan was born in
Ireland, =
as were her parents Patrick Sullivan and Mary Sullivan. Mary was
also a =
Sullivan at birth.
I don't have any county information since records that I've
reviewed =
have only stated country of origin and not county. However, if I
was to =
venture a guess, I would think that Kerry and Cork would be good =
candidates due to the family names and the fact that the area in
which =
they settled (Greater Springfield Massachusetts USA) was a popular
=
locale for immigrants from these counties. =20
Don't know if this will be of any help, but I hope it will.
Bobby Callahan
