Regarding Tom Gibbs nore on JAMES CALLAHAN in Georgia.
My gggrandfather was James Callahan and lived in North GA.
I would like to have more information on his James Callahan.

you will find callahams in abbeville county, south carolina
in the 18th and 19th century. see "a history of the
callaham and carwile families) by anna diehls callaham,
1976. you may have to get it from interlibrary loan. it
traces callahams out of virginia through south carolina and
throughout into the mid 20thcentury and later. good luck.

Mine were in New England, I think.... Spelled Callaghan. John or wife mary Foley
Callaghan John b abt 1797. Mary ..unk, Son Emory M b. 1832 somewehre in Maine.
