I am searching for a Jean Callahan that lived in Virginia about 1780
I am searching the family of Martin M. Callahan, b. 1822 in Campbell Co., VA,
married to Elizabeth Jane Callahan on 14 Dec 1841 also in Campbell Co.
Martin was the son of John and Lavinia (Mason) Callahan. Elizabeth Jane was
the daughter of Stephen and Unknown Callahan. Martin and Elizabeth were
first cousins.
Martin and his family migrated to Panola Co., TX about 1848 where he became a
Baptist Preacher for the next 40 years associated with the Macedonia Baptist
Church near Carthage, Panola County, TX.
Martin and Elizabeth had 12 known children (as listed in the 1860 Panola
County, TX Census):

Elizabeth died prior to 1880 and Martin remarried to Narcessia Unknown and
was still living in Panola County in 1880.
Martin died on saturday, 5 Sep 1896 and is burried in the old Macedonia grave
yard, in Carthage, Panola County, TX.
