My mother Estelle Pauline Aymar b. Oct 28, 1929 ????? d. Sept. 18, 1997
New Jersey and father Francis William Devine b. ???? 1926 Weehawken,
New Jersey d.Feb. 27, 1954 in New York State from lymphosarcoma while
serving in the military.. Lymphoma may have been induced by atomic
radiation in the Pacific Proving ground. Francis had sister Rose, who
died of breast cancer at age 27. Left two daughter�s, one Patricia who
died in childbirth at age 27. The other daughter Jacqueline was put up
for adoption. Now is Jacqueline Newsome, a school nurse, and lives in
Yonkers, NY.
My Grandfather also named Francis Devine b. June 1, 1897 at 254
Eleventh Street, Hoboken, New Jersey. and d. Sept. 17, 1926 at St.
Mary�s Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey after a railroad accident in
Weehawken. He was brakeman for the Erie Railroad in New Jersey. Lived at
1923 Park Avenue at time of death. Was married to Mary E. Callaghan b.
Oct. 1863 d. April 6, 1954, died in Edgewater, New Jersey.Undertaker was
McCorry, Cliffside park.. Mary had a brother Michael and sister
Catherine. (Mary�s father was a stonemason named Michael J. (poosibly
G.) O�Callaghan, born June 1869 in Ireland and married Hannah Reigan who
was born June 1872. They lived in New Jersey sometime between 1900 and
1920).
My grandfather Francis�s father (my great grandfather)was Thomas Devine
(occupation Driver an Switchman) b. 1857 and d. ?????. Was born in
Meath, Ireland but put Philadelphia, PA as county of origin on some
documents. Was a switchman for The Erie Railroad in New Jersey. Married
a Mary Dunn. b.1863 in Hoboken, NJ and d. ???? Family listed in the
1900 New Jersey census as living at 1206 Willow Avenue. In 1886, Thomas
and Mary were living at 101 Grand Street. In 1897 THomas and Mary were
living at 254 Eleventh Street, Hoboken, NJ. Children were: Thomas b. Jan
1886, Charles b. May 1893, Francis (my grandfather) b. June 1897,
Roseanna (spelling varies) b. Feb. 20, 1895, and Viola b. Nov. 1899.
