Greetings cousins
IGI records (patron-submitted) show 20 records for a birth search for
Winifred Callaghan, Ireland, no date specified. They show, between
1818 to 1880, Winny, Winifridam, etc. One, 1835, is a possible to be
mine. (I know, there will be a lot of other names not on the IGI.)
Winfredam CALAHAN, Christened 27 June 1835, Tibohine, Roscommon,
Ireland, parents Thadei Calahan and Brigidae Vezy.
Can anyone claim her and rule her out? My Win was orphaned and in a
workhouse by 1850, and sent to Australia as a Famine Orphan, and by
then seems to have been from Dublin or somewhere near. The ship
records (Maria, 1850) claim her parents were William and Mary, but
I've found a lot of records to be wrong about such details.
Her death record gives her surname as O'Callaghan. . . . . I'm
chasing loose ends to see where they lead.
Many thanks for any suggestions,
Migs (Margaret) Eder
