Good Morning, I'm more of a lurker hoping to get some insight to whether
COOLIHAN/COLLIHAN could have been translated somehow from CALLIHAN.
In the very bad copy of the DANIELS family bible, I have Ebenezer William
DANIELS, son of Willard William DANIELS and Lucy RIDER, both of Addison
County, Vermont, married Charlotte M. COLLIHAN 19-Dec-1872. "Lottie" was
born in Vt. 22-Jan-1853.
Are there any Vermont CALLIHAN's on this list?
Lottie and Eben's daughter, Margaret Lucy DANIELS b. 11-Nov-1875 in Bristol,
Addison Co., Vt. married Oscar Eugene PRATT, of Rutland County, Vt., son of
E. O. Pratt and Mary LOONEY.
Thanks, Marie LC

Callahan? Did he perhaps have a daughter Mary Ellen Callahan? Slainte' Frank

It is plainly stated in each posting that the certificates are for either New
York City or Brooklyn, and that Holy Cross Cemetery is located in Brooklyn.

I am trying to find a John Callaghan that came to Cincinnati, OH back around
1863 with his brother Corneilus. These Callaghan brothers were from County
Sligo and lived near a town called Gurteen in the Parish of Kilfree. John
would have been born around 1835. Corneilus stayed in OH for a few years and
then moved on to SDakota
where another brother Peter had settled.
Approx 30 years later there were 2 Callaghan sisters that left the Gurteen
area in County Sligo and went to Cincinnati,OH. There seems to have been
some connection between Cin,OH and Gurteen, Co Sligo.
Are there any Callahan's out there that have ancestors that settled in Cin,
OH?
Is anyone tracing Callaghan's from the Gurteen area of County Sligo? Other
brothers names were Martin, Mickey, Peter and a few names unknown. The
fathers name was Andrew
Jim Callahan
Kansas City, MO

Curious about your Boston relatives. I have Callahan's and O'Callaghan's
(both sides of my family) in Boston starting around 1880. Most lived in
Roxbury well into the 1950's. Were in Ireland did your clan come from?

When searching CALLAHANS I have found that you also have to look at
O'CALLAGHAN. My father was William Callahan to me but when I found his
birth
record it was O'Callaghan. Living in Boston in 1905, my grandfather thought
it best to drop the "O" and the "g". Hope this helps someone. If anyone
comes across John or Thomas O'Callaghan in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1880
please let me know. Thank you.

Looking for relatives of Michael O'Callaghan, stonemason. Immigrated to
US about 1883-88. Wife was Hannah Reigan. Had children Mary (born in NJ)
, Michael (born in NY) and Catherine( born in NJ). Mary (changed to
Callaghan) was my paternal grandmother. She married Francis Devine, a
brakeman for the railroad. Lived in Weehawken, NJ.
Thanks,

Fantastic. I know some of my kin must be buried there. perhaps my long lost
gggrandmother Mary Ellen Callahan TOBIN.
If you have a book or reference on Calvary would it be possible to do a look
up for TOBIN.
Thanks. You folks are great! Frank
Hi tracy,
Thanks for posting those birth certificates. Who knows one day the may be
helpful. Please keep a copy for me:)
I'm more interested in their grandparents than the parents who for now are
probably a bit to young, unless I later find that father's were siblings or
such.
Right now I'm lost:)

I have an index of Callahan/Callaghan births for Brooklyn & NYC for the
following years: 1881-1892.
This index only lists name, date of birth, borough & certificate number.
Some entries are difficult to read due to the conditional of the original
index. This is the same index used by NYC Archives for birth records
searches.
If you can supply me with a name, possible date of birth & possible borough,
I'd be very happy to search for you.
Tracy

Thanks so much for the lookup!
