Thank you for the quick reply Philip.
I agree that it is unlikely that we are connected. I never miss a chance to
try and find a living relative. Maybe one day I will get lucky.
Good luck in your research.

Subject: Re: [CALLAGHAN] Re: ancestory
My great grandmother, Alice WARD, married Simon FINNIGAN and had four
children, Patrick, Barney, Philip and Mary, all born in Ireland between 1836
and 1846. Sometime between 1846 and 1850, Simon FINNIGAN died and Alice
married Dennis CALLAGHAN and they appeared in the 1850 census in Cleveland
Ohio. Aside the coincidence of the surnames, Callaghan and Ward, I doubt if
there is any connection.

What are the names you are researching? My grandparents were Thomas
Callaghan and
Elizabeth Ann Turner. Great grandparents were Christopher
Callaghan and Mary J. Ward from Armagh Ireland. Thomas was born Consett,
Durham. I have 1881 & 1891 census and several birth death and marriage
certificates. Please let me know if there is a connection.
Good luck in your research.
