Hi Tracy:
I have certificates for some births and marriages. If I have day, month and year I have
the certificates and if not it's an estimate from census. My ggrandfather was
Christopher CALLAGHAN born 1825 in Armagh Ireland. On 5 May 1881 in Rathwire, Killucan,
Westmeath,Ireland he married Mary J. WARD born about 1827 Armagh. They had the following
children (from 1881 census). All born in Consett, County Durham, England. Thomas 1854,
Mary 1855, Christy (male) 1859, William 1863, Daniel 1865, Henry1868.
Thomas was my grandfather. On 31 April 1883
he married Elizabeth Ann TURNER born 18 Sept. 1862 in Blackhill, Benfieldside, County
Durham. They had the folowing children: Alice born 26 Dec. 1885 Consett, Mary Jane born 18
Feb. 1888 in Consett, William about 1890 Stockton-on-tees, County Durham, Jonathan 14 July
1892 in Stockton-on-tees, and my father Frank (birth cert) Francis (baptismal) born 26
July 1898 in a Union W!
orkhouse in Stockton-on-tees. Dad was sent to an orphanage 4 years old and to Canada when
he was 13. Both his parents were in the workhouse when he went to the orphanage but when
he was sent to Canada his father was dead. His mother Elzabeth married ?Dugmore and later
married William Lowes. I would be so thrilled to find a CALLAGHAN relative. Thank you
for starting this list. Good luck everyone. Fran
