We can't go on meeting like this James!
Yes, I would like a scan of his obituary although I don't think it will tell me
anymore than I already know. Also the photograph of the grave sounds brilliant as I did
take one but it did not come out - I think the flash had been turned off. So yes, a
photograph of the grave would be useful to me. I have photos of Alice, his wife, as Sandra
has some photograph albums recently donated to the society. I should speak to her in the
first instance before you go further.
I like the sound of the book though - very interesting!
I spent yesterday afternoon in the compamy of Sandra Soder and have promised to let the
Gravesend Historical Society have more information as and whan I can. I am afraid the
information I am gatheirng at present is not mine to share as I am doing it on behalf of
someone else. However, I have given Sandra a copy of the information taken from the
Colonial Lists -?1880 which gives a brief history of Thomas's colonial postings.
I do voluntary work at the National Archives, Kew and am going to see if there are any
identifiable photographs there next week.
As I said I will send you and Sandra further information when I am free to do so but it
may be some time but rest assured I will not forget either of you and will send what I can
when I am free to do so.
I just love researching and it is wonderful to meet others who are like-minded and share
information with them. Thank you once again for your offers of help.
Take care
Jackie
